Thank you for visiting the online presence of my practice. I hope you find it helpful, straight forward, and interactive. My mission is to provide you and/or your family with the most effective skills to use to be your best when you need to be.
3/17/2020 COViD-19 (Corona Virus) Impact on the Practice Information:
Please follow CDC guidelines for social distancing at this time. Soper Counseling Group will be consistent with these recommendations and implementing the following:
For routine appointments - Tele-health counseling sessions at scheduled times in the evening (Mon - Fri) and throughout the day and afternoon on Saturday (we will schedule with you and bring you up to speed on TherapySites online video counseling sessions - please see tab above)
For emergent appointments - in-person sessions are limited to only urgent/emergent clinical issues. All in-person appointments will be offered before 7PM.
We will NOT offer any group sessions at this time.
Our older generation (60+) and medically vulnerable are most impacted by COViD-19. If this describes you, please call and I will get back to ASAP to arrange a call. If this describes someone you are caring for or describes someone that is in your ally support network - please call and we will set up a tele-health session.
Please keep a check for a fever, any coughing, or tightness in your chest, or difficulty breathing in regular activity - if you do have these symptoms, stay home - call your PCP for guidance. If you have been exposed to a person with Corona Virus - stay home - and call your PCP for guidance. Please be sure to take good care of yourself.
The concerns associated with isolation as a result of social distancing and the impending increase of illness to the country (and the impact on our systems) are both realistic and rational worries for anyone, and can be especially impactful to the many people with more chronic anxiety, depression, PTSD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, or Traumatic Brain Injury and other Brain Health conditions. Please consider being gentle with yourself when you are having a "wave" of anxiety, ground yourself using your coping skills, and reach out to your ally support network. Please see the Hot Topics! section for more information that may be useful.
My goal is to help you activate your power and lead a life that you find meaningful. Many of us suffer really difficult experiences in our past and may continue to suffer without knowing a way to feel better. We work together to better understand, reprocess, and resolve that suffering by combining therapy-enhanced coping with your own organic coping skills. By becoming more present in the here-and-now you can begin to have the most influence on your life. Within our relationship, we explore your thoughts, feelings, images, and behavior patterns and then apply concrete skills to make the lasting changes you want.
I am really excited about the impact Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) form of therapy, Integrated Treatment of Complex Trauma for Adolescents (ITCT-A), and Aggression Replacement Training (ART) offerings have had for my clients.
Please call or email me for an individual, couples or family therapy consultation for you, your teen, or your family. We can schedule you for an office session (if appropriate), tele-health consultation, or telephone consultation.
